Ok, burned through a couple more episodes. It gets better. I still take issue with their "happiness guinea pigs". They all seem to be healthy, emotionally/economically stable, successful people with seemingly endless bandwidth. Just not very relatable to me or my patient base. And I get the reasoning behind it, to try to make the concepts more relatable, understand the application and maybe to suggest that everyone struggles with happiness but there seems to be a real selection bias here.

Ok, I'm on episode 1 so I get that I have to give it a chance BUT. Episode 1 - first they take a dig at "self help gurus" and basically tell us 'hey, let me sciencesplain happiness for you". Then they open with an anecdotal story of a "happiness guinea pig" who is for some reason perfect for the role because she has a steady job in the career of her choice a solid support network and a happy child?!?! Am I supposed to be impressed that she was able to bounce back from forgetting her wallet?
